"Roots of Athens County" short film documentary - 2022

Roots of Athens County is a community art project that weaves the oral histories of three Athens County Elders: Cecil Tabler, Charlie Bond, and Geraldine “Tootsie” Tabler, into a short documenatry. Athens, Ohio Folk artist Talcon Quinn worked in collaboration with filmmakers Yaphet Jackman and Dusty Jenkins to awaken memories through the traditional art form of basketry and encapsulate these memories into the modern medium of film. When screened in person, the film travels with three baskets, one woven in honor of each: Cecil, Charlie, and Geraldine.
